Mystic and Groton, for both
Mystic sits between the two resorts. Foxwoods is roughly 15 to 20 minutes away and Mohegan Sun about 20 to 25, depending on the home and traffic. You also get downtown Mystic’s restaurants on your doorstep.
Niantic and East Lyme, for beach plus casino
Prefer the beach? Niantic is roughly 20 to 30 minutes from Mohegan Sun, with sandy beaches and a walkable village for the rest of the trip.

Family-size homes between the two resorts, close to downtown Mystic.
